This Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Responsibility Policy outlines the accountability framework for managers, supervisors, and employees in ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. It establishes clear roles and expectations to maintain compliance with workplace safety and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  1. Scope

This policy applies to all A&R Services QLD Pty Ltd employees, contractors, and visitors across all company locations and operations. It ensures that health, safety, and environmental responsibilities are formally integrated into management practices, employee training, and performance evaluations.

  1. Policy Statement

A&R Services QLD Pty Ltd is committed to:

  • Providing a workplace that prioritizes health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
  • Ensuring managers and supervisors are held formally accountable for their teams’ WHSE performance.
  • Complying with all relevant WHS and environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Embedding HSE responsibilities into job descriptions, training programs, and performance assessments.
  • Continuously improving safety and environmental outcomes through proactive risk management and employee engagement.
  1. Roles and Responsibilities

4.1 Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees understand and comply with HSE policies and procedures.
  • Provide adequate training, resources, and support to maintain high WHSE standards.
  • Hold managers and supervisors accountable for the HSE performance of their teams.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

4.2 Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in following all HSE guidelines and practices.
  • Ensure employees are trained and competent in safety procedures.
  • Conduct job-specific risk assessments and implement control measures.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in regular HSE performance evaluations.

4.3 Employee Responsibilities

  • Follow all HSE procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Participate in WHSE training and safety initiatives.
  • Support a positive safety culture by engaging in workplace safety discussions.
  1. HSE Integration in Job Descriptions and Performance Appraisals
  • All managerial and supervisory job descriptions include specific HSE responsibilities.
  • Employees are required to demonstrate compliance with HSE policies in their formal and informal performance reviews.
  • Supervisors and managers are evaluated on their ability to maintain workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
  • Non-compliance with HSE policies may result in corrective actions, including additional training or disciplinary measures.

  • All employees, including new hires and contractors, must complete HSE induction training.
  • Managers and supervisors receive additional leadership training on safety and environmental responsibilities.
